Sustainability Program

The supply chain

Six steps to a sustainable cup

Sustainability at Abbarci runs end to end — from the farmer's field to the customer's cup. Every step of our supply chain is designed to be traceable, fair and continuously improving.

Step 01

Farmers

We work with producers of every size — single-family farms to large co-ops — training and supervising them in climate-smart practice and education.

Step 02

Traceability

Coffee is traceable throughout the supply chain — critical for delivering projects on the ground and maintaining quality.

Step 03

Roasteries

At our roasting and shipping facilities we prioritise a smaller carbon footprint — fewer resources consumed, less waste produced.

Step 04

Training Centre

Our training program is a hub for sustainability dialogue with customers. Farmers learn GAP, GHP, financial literacy and recordkeeping.

Step 05

Buying & Pricing

A transparent strategy: daily prices posted at every collection centre, and farmers paid according to the quality of their coffee.

Step 06

Customers

We want everyone to enjoy our coffee knowing it was produced sustainably — so their consumption choices count.

Measurable impact

Beyond the supply chain

We strive for measurable environmental, social and fiscal sustainability in everything we do — and we're committed to positive change in every community we're connected to.

  • Extension services, finance and quality inputs for partner farmers
  • Public-sector partners incl. Operation Wealth Creation & Uganda Cooperative Alliance
